After a close voting process by the popular jury, Carmelo Andrades Bethencourt from the Island of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the winner of March’s best photo in the I Online Open Fotosub “El Hierro, un Puerto de Vida”, with a spectacular photograph of the portrait of a canarian crayfish, Enoplometopus antillensis.
This photographer, who was born and lives in Gran Canaria, has a passion for underwater photography and dive travels. He started practicing underwater photography around 2005 and in 2007 he participated in his first underwater competition, the 3rd Open of Sardinia.
Subchampion in the underwater contest of Sardina 2015 and awarded with best macro photo, subchampion in the 2015 contest of Arinaga, subchampion in the 2014 Playa viva contest and awarded with best underwater scenary photo, and champion of the 2010 Mogan contest and awarded with best underwater scenary photo with model. He has also participated on various occasions in the Open Fotosub Island of El Hierro where he was awarded with the Fito Herzhog Prize for the most representative photo in the XII edition of this competition.
During this past month of March 37 photos and 1 video were submitted to the contest at www.online.openfotosub.es, and the winning photo added 154 votes out of the total 2282 votes from the popular jury among all the submitted images.
Since the 15th of April until the 15th of May you can submit you photos taken in April to the contest.
