IMPORTANT!

Keep in mind that NOT any photograph can be submitted to this contest!

To be valid, the images must be shot in El Hierro Island waters between the 1st of April and the 31st of August 2018, always under the supervision of any of the Authorized Diving Centers of the event (You will find a list of these diving centers HERE). You have to inform the authorized diving center about your intention to participate in the Online Open Fotosub when diving with them and don’t forget to fill in the Registration Form you will find HERE. When we receive the form, we will  let you know how you should take the control shots, which are essential to be able to validate your photographs.

Do not forget to do this, otherwise if you have not been registered by an Authorized Diving Center and done the indicated control shots, your photographs will not be validated and therefore they will be disqualified although the jury found them worth winning.

How to participate by voting the images submitted to the contest

If you are not registered, use the “Login/Create account” tab to create an Online Open Fotosub user account. Once created, you will be able to enter the system with your user name and password  and vote the photographs you will find in each category in “Images in Contest” on the menu above. The previous month voting period is opened from the 1st to the 15th of each month (between May and September 2018) and for each voting period a round-trip flight ticket to El Hierro from any Canary island will be raffled between the users that have voted: the more months you vote, more will be the possibilities to win one of the prizes.

How to participate submitting photographs to the contest

It is important that you carefully read the rules provided by your Authorized Diving Center to ensure your entering photographs meet the established requirements.

If you are not registered, use the “Log in/Create account” tab to create an Online Open Fotosub user account. Once created, you will be able to enter the system with your user name and password and submit your images using the photograph uploader:

  • Select the corresponding tab to the category you wish to submit your image
  • Press the “Upload image” button
  • Press “Select file” to search in your computer for the photograph JPG file you aim to submit. Please, take into account that the maximum file size must be 9 MB Once selected, press “Upload image
  • Repeat this operation for each one of the images you aim to submit
  • Be aware that submitted images will not show up in the corresponding gallery until the pre-selection jury’s validation. Please be patient!

Contest photographs (Maximum 5 per category and month) can only be submitted between the 15th of the month the photograph was taken and the 14th of the following month. However, keep in mind that the voting period opens on the 1st and closes on the 15th of each month, so the sooner you submit your photographs, more the possibilities for your image to be voted.
